Pulmonary Function Technologist

Overview

Travel/Contract assignment in New Brunswick, New Jersey
Day shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00–15:30
No weekends or holidays
Average patient volume is approximately 6 visits per day
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
RRT
BLS issued by American Heart Association
PALS issued by American Heart Association
Experience with pulmonary function testing (PFTs)
Basic spirometry
Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET)
Bronchial provocation testing
Diffusion testing
Lung volume testing
Stress test administration
Basic EKG
Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
Experience with arterial blood sampling

Required Clinical Experience

Basic spirometry
Complete pulmonary function testing (PFT)
Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET)
Bronchial provocation testing
Diffusion testing
Lung volume testing
Stress test administration
Basic EKG
ABG collection and interpretation
Arterial punctures
Cystic fibrosis patient care
Bronchodilator medication administration
Inhaled steroid administration
Aerosol therapy setup and administration, including masks, metered-dose inhalers (MDIs), and nebulizers
Experience performing and supporting comprehensive pulmonary function testing

Notes

Required background check, drug screen, physical, TB clearance, flu documentation or exemption, respirator clearance, and other onboarding items apply before start
References and a 7-year work history are required
