Description

Med Surg (Acute Care) RN

Assignment Overview

13-week assignment starting ASAP
12-hour night shifts
16-bed Med/Surg unit
1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Every other or every third weekend
No call requirements
Floating may include safety sitter or other supportive roles

Required Qualifications

Current RN licensure in Illinois
BLS
PALS
3-5 years of nursing experience
Experience with telemetry monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

ACLS
Experience in a rural hospital setting
Experience in outpatient infusions

Additional Notes

The unit uses Nihon Kohden telemetry, and RNs interpret their own strips
Support staff includes 1 CNA
High-flow oxygen and Vapotherm are available; more complex respiratory support is transferred to ICU
Orientation is provided during the first week
