RN - Emergency Dept

Overview

• Travel RN in Pulaski, Tennessee
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 1 opening
• 8-week contract
• Start needed 7–10 days from offer acceptance
• Orientation is weekly on Mondays
• Local candidates must be 60 miles or greater to be considered travel

Unit / Setting

• Detox unit
• 13 beds
• Patient ratio: 1:7
• May be required to float to other departments as needed, but not as a standard

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• IV insertion skills

Preferred

• 5+ years of experience preferred; 3+ years acceptable
• Experience with CIWA/COWS
• ER experience will be considered

Clinical Focus

• MS-Detox
• Patient care of all ages
• Ages 18 to geriatric, with occasional 17-year-old patients
• Substance abuse and polysubstance abuse
• ETOH
• Underlying behavioral conditions
• Hypertension
• Syncope
• Seizures
• Liver disease
• Cognitive changes
• High fall risk

Skills / Experience

• Bedside shift report
• IV access
• Assist with bedside procedures such as PICC lines and midlines

Equipment / Systems

• IV pumps
• Zoll monitor
• IV catheters
• HMS/Medhost

Additional Notes

• Handle with care after hire
• Education expectations are to be completed during the contract
• Must follow facility standards, audits, bedside shift report, briefs, debriefs, and unit checks
