CCU RN AM Shift

Location: Long Beach, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: Not specified

Schedule

• Shift: Day, 3x12-hour shifts (0700-1930)
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Weekends: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• On-call: Not required
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling
• Holidays: Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Time off: Pre-approved time off is at the manager's discretion and must be included at time of submission

Experience and Floating

• Required: 2 years of cardiac critical care experience
• First-time travelers: Accepted if experienced
• Float scope: ICU, PCU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and ED holding

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Coronary Care (CCU) experience of 2 years
• Coronary Care (CCU) experience within the last year
• Experience working with cardiac patients
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association or RQI
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification

Onboarding Requirements

• Background and identification:

  • Standard background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Emergency contact form
• Health and screening:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (not annual)
  • N95 fit test mask within 1 year, renewed annually (no onsite fit testing)
  • Tdap within the last 10 years (may decline)
  • Negative TB test within 1 year, plus annual TB questionnaire
  • Rubeola, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity (positive titer or 2 vaccines; declination accepted for some low or equivocal results)
  • Flu vaccine required November 1 to April 30 (may decline)
  • COVID vaccination record preferred
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (instant screen accepted; no marijuana panel)
  • California urine drug testing cannot include marijuana or THC. A saliva test may be required, and both urine and saliva screens may be needed.
• Training and documents:

  • HIPAA module, completed before the documentation system modules
  • Documentation system modules, completed from home on the Monday of start and due by the first in-person day (Tuesday)
  • Completion certificates from within 12 months of start may be accepted for returning clinicians
  • Review-only policies: drug and alcohol-free policy, dress and appearance policy, discharge optimization, and care briefing
• Application materials: Employment application and 2 professional references
• Badge photo: Not required at this location
