Registered Nurse – ER

Location: Lakeport, California Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours: 3 x 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)

Role Overview

The staff nurse provides direct care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to address patients' physical, psychosocial, safety, rehabilitative, and learning needs. The nurse works with nursing peers, attending physicians, and allied support services, manages the care of assigned patients, and directs the activities of ancillary staff.

• Shift: Day, 0700–1930, 3 x 12 hours
• Weekend rotation: Required
• On-call: Not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience
• ED experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by AHA or ARC
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by AHA or ARC
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Background: 7-year background check within 6 months of start, including a sex offender search (within 90 days of start), education verification (highest level achieved), and federal and state exclusion database searches. Monthly exclusion checks apply after start.
• Licensing: Primary source online verification of state license within 30 days of start, and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start.
• Employment history: Full 7 years of work history on the application, with no gaps. Gaps over 30 days must be explained. Gaps over one year require client approval.
• References: 2 professional references required within 3 years of hire.
• Health: Physical exam within 1 year of start. TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually. Negative TB test (QuantiFERON or T-SPOT within 90 days of start, or two PPDs) or negative chest x-ray if positive responder. Drug screen (9-panel) within 6 months of start.
• Immunizations and titers: Tdap, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella documentation, or positive titers or declinations as applicable. Annual seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (November 1 to April 30).
• Respiratory protection: Fit test within 1 year of start, renewed annually. Color vision exam in person, if required.
• Other: Facility orientation, code of conduct, and policy attestations must be signed before start. Badge photo required for per diem roles only.
