RN OBS (Observation), Golden, Colorado

Location: Golden, Colorado

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts (3 per week, 36 hours/week, 1900-0730)

• Weekends: rotating

Role Summary

• Performs independent and delegated nursing functions under accepted practice standards and state Board of Nursing rules.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care, including health data collection, health teaching and counseling, therapy and treatment, patient referral, and treatment plan monitoring.
• Documents per hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications, based on business need.
• May be required to be placed on call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Float Scope

• Other Tele (Telemetry) units
• Ortho surgical trauma
• Acuity-adaptable unit (step-down example patients include insulin drips and sepsis patients)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Observation experience
• PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience of 1 year, with experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
