RN - Tele

Location: Lafayette, Colorado Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Day, 12-hour shifts (3 per week, 36 hours/week), 0700-1930

Role Summary

• Performs independent and delegated nursing functions under the state Board of Nursing's accepted practice standards.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care, including health teaching, health counseling, therapy and treatment, patient referral, and documentation.
• May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need. Floating is based on date.
• Unit has 32 beds, with an average of 3-5 patients per nurse depending on acuity and shift.

Schedule

• Weekends: Maximum of 8 weekend shifts in an 8-week period, potentially fewer depending on staffing. Usually about 5-6 in an 8-week period. Day weekend shifts are Saturday and Sunday; night weekend shifts (1900-0730) are Friday and Saturday.
• On call: No scheduled call shifts. May be placed on call if the hospital does not need the nurse that night or at the beginning of the shift. May also be required to be placed on call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
• Valid Registered Nurse license in Colorado
• 1+ years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification
