Description
Operating Room RN
- Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 11:00 to 18:30, 40 hours per week
- Weekend schedule: Fri/Sat/Sun, 7a to 7:30p (see shift)
Facility and Department
- 253-bed acute care community hospital in Northeast Philadelphia
- Pennsylvania Level II Trauma Center
- Work settings: General OR and Level II Trauma
- OR supports open and endovascular vascular surgery, orthopedic and spine procedures, trauma surgery, neurosurgery, podiatry, general surgery, urology, and robotic surgery
- Advanced vascular procedures are performed in a hybrid endovascular suite
Position Details
- Experience required: 2 years
- First-time travelers: Accepted
- Local candidates: Accepted
- On call: Not required; may pick up if interested
- Scheduling: All time-off requests must be submitted with the contract submission. Requests received later will not be accepted. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated.
- Pre-start compliance: Planned time off must not interfere with completing all required pre-start compliance before the start date.
- Scrubs: Provided by the hospital
Requirements
- Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
- 2 years of experience in the general operating room (OR)
- OR experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Military, or RQI
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Ability to scrub
- Experience working with podiatry patients
- Experience with robotic surgery
- Experience with AAA repair
- Experience with AV fistula repair
- Experience with carotid angioplasty/stenting
- Experience with carotid endarterectomy (CEA)
- Experience with femoral-popliteal bypass graft
- Experience with total joint replacement
