RN Cardiac 5C

Location: Peoria, Illinois Unit: Cardiac 5C Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) Schedule: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Role Overview

The staff Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care using the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, and financial and human resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs all duties required by the unit within the scope of service and implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Completes initial patient assessments on admission, develops and modifies plans of care based on continuous evaluation, and implements nursing interventions and patient care procedures.
• Maintains accurate, up-to-date nursing documentation for the healthcare team.
• Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting hazards and incidents.
• Communicates directly and privately to resolve issues, gives constructive feedback to peers, and fulfills all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license
• Minimum three (3) years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Cardiology experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
