Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Stepdown/PCU RN)

Location

  • Facility: Springfield Memorial Hospital, part of Hereford Regional Medical Center

Employment Details

  • Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 3x12 Nights (1845-0715), with the option for 4x12s
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Floating Requirement: Will float as needed within scope

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Experience: 1 year required (first-timers not accepted)
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NIH (National Institutes of Health)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
  • Pending License: Not accepted; must have an active Illinois license

    • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
    • Telemetry monitoring
    • Use of Rapid Response Teams
  • Cardiovascular:
    • Post Cardiac Angiogram
    • Pre/Post Cardiac Cath and Surgery
    • Sheath Removal
  • Gastrointestinal:
    • Feeding tube care and management
  • Genitourinary/Renal:
    • Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management
  • IV Therapy/Phlebotomy:
    • Accessing Ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration
  • Medication Management:
    • Heparin Protocols, Cardiac and Vasoactive drips management
  • Neurological/Psychiatric:
    • Craniotomy, CVA, Pre/Post neurosurgery
  • Orthopedics:
    • Ortho Trauma, Total Joint Replacements
  • Respiratory:
    • Care of Ventilated Patients, Tracheostomy Management
