Job Description

An experienced Physical Therapist is needed for a facility located in southern Texas. The role involves treating a general population with orthopedic issues (post-op and chronic pain), neurological cases (primarily strokes), and wound care.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of travel experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of specialty experience
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Work Environment

• Patient Load: 7-10 patients treated per day
• Shifts: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (flexible)
• Weekend Requirement: 1-2 weekends per month (8 AM - noon)
• Holidays: As needed
• Uniform: Any color allowed

Patient Demographics

• Age Range: Teenagers to geriatric patients; very rarely pediatric patients
• Common Diagnoses:

  • Orthopedic (post-op and chronic pain)
  • Neurological (primarily strokes)
  • Wound care

Additional Information

• Outpatient vs. Inpatient: 90% outpatient, with inpatient and wound care for the remainder
• Support Staff: 3-5 PTAs in outpatient, 1 PTA in inpatient
• EMR System: Meditech
• Patient Interaction: One patient per hour unless choosing to take more
• Wellness Center: Adjacent wellness center available for discharged patients for guided post-PT assistance.
