Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: 7 AM with on-call (may change during interview)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- First-time Travelers: Not accepted
- On-Call: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: As needed
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals: Not accepted (100-mile radius rule)
- Pending License: Not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Must be included at time of submission
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC only; required for Cath Lab and other critical care areas
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only; required for all candidates except some allied health roles
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs except those at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital; expires every 2 years
- Other certifications may apply depending on specialty or unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) but are not required for Cath Lab RN
Licensing
- Must have a valid Tennessee license or multistate license under NLC
- No pending licenses accepted
- State license verification required
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
- Fit Mask Test: 3M N-95 mask fit test within 1 year, must pass without limitations
- TB Testing: Negative 2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): Proof of 2 vaccines or positive antibody titer with boosters if needed
- Varicella: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive antibody titer with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B: Proof of 3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination
- Tdap: Required only for candidates going to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital
- Flu Vaccine: Required for 2024-2025 season prior to start; no declinations accepted
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Preferred but not required
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 60 days of start (statewide, county, federal, education verification)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually
- Two recent professional references required
- Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)
- Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (for TN facilities)
Competency and Skills
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Core competency exams (Parts I, II, III) required annually for case managers (may not apply to Cath Lab RN)
- Skills checklist updated annually
Facility Specific Information
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
- Photo for Badge: Must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses with glare, recent photo)
- Confidentiality Acknowledgment: Must be signed prior to start
- Onsite Fit Test: Must be completed prior to start date and brought on first day
- Job Description: Must be signed within one year of start
Additional Notes
- No locals accepted; must be outside 100-mile radius
- No block scheduling accommodations
- On-call and weekend work required as needed
