    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Seattle, Washington
    Facility: Providence Swedish Cherry Hill Campus
    Hospital System: Providence Health and Services - MSP


    Position Overview

    • Employment Type: Travel/Contract (13-week contract)
    • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience
    • Open to: First-time travelers and local candidates
    • Team Structure: 4-person team (2 RNs, 2 Techs)

    Patient Population & Procedures

    • Patient Mix: 40% Inpatient / 60% Outpatient
    • Common Diagnoses: Heart block, CAD, CHF, Tachycardia
    • Special Procedures:
      • Cardioversion / Defibrillation
      • LVAD management
      • 12 Lead EKG acquisition
      • Sheath removal
      • Pre-Op and Post-Op care
      • EP Lab, Interventional, Procedural support

    Requirements

    • Clinical Skills:
      • Cath Lab experience (2 years)
      • IABP, Impella device experience
      • IV start proficiency
      • Patient recovery skills
    • Certifications:
      • ACLS (American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
      • BLS (American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
      • NCLA required
    • Call & Float:
      • On-call required (STEMI call 9-11 shifts on a 6-week schedule)
      • Weekend on-call coverage (3 weekend shifts included)
      • Float between Cath Lab and EP Lab (Issaquah campus)
    • Response Time: 30-minute response time for on-call coverage
    • Scrubs: Provided

    Licensing

    • Active compact nursing license accepted at all Swedish facilities
    • Washington State multi-state licensed nurses must complete demographic attestation prior to assignment

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    • Background Check: Within 45 days of start, covering last 7 years of residence/employment
    • Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Health Documents:
      • Physical exam within 1 year (signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO)
      • Immunizations: TDAP, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
      • Flu vaccine during flu season (declinations accepted)
      • COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
      • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent, updated annually)
      • Respiratory safety clearance (annual for travel)
    • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years
    • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps/overlaps
    • Education Verification: Required for all candidates; international education requires additional documentation
    • Skills Checklists: Annual updates required for applicable units

    Training & Modules

    • Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp modules required prior to start, including:
      • Core modules for profession and region
      • Specialty-specific modules if applicable
      • Annual regulatory requirements
    • Epic training modules required for certain locations and specialties

    Additional Notes

    • Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
    • All on-call units require a 30-minute response time from call notification
    • Scrubs are provided for the assignment
