Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Facility: WellSpan York Hospital
Hospital System: Bingham Memorial Hospital - Locums
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Role Overview

• Unit: Invasive Cardiology
• Labs: 4 Cardiac Catheterization Labs, 2 Electrophysiology Labs
• Prep/Recovery Bays: 23
• Procedures: Over 6,000 annually, including complex coronary procedures, ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO, structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping), complex atrial and ventricular ablations, pacemaker/ICD implant & explant, cardioversion, pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation, peripheral intervention, and pulmonary embolectomy.
• Patient Population: May include COVID-19 patients.
• Facility: Tobacco and fragrance free.

Schedule & Work Requirements

• Shift: Day shift
• Shift Length: 8 or 10 hours (between 6 AM - 7 PM)
• Weekend/Holiday: As needed
• Call: May be required
• Floating: As needed
• Must stay until last patient is cared for.

Experience & Certifications

• Minimum Experience: 2 years
• Required Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• EP Lab & Cardiac Cath Lab competencies required
• EPIC experience required

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Background & Screening

• 7-year criminal background check (updated annually)
• PA FBI Fingerprinting within 1 year of start (must be on file within 45 days)
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search within 1 year of start (must be on file within 45 days)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM checks within 30 days of start
• 2 professional references within 3 years
• Education verification (degree, diploma, or transcripts)
• Employment application and recent resume required

Health & Immunizations

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD/DO/NP/PA
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days (PPD not accepted)
• Vaccinations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series + declination form)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccine or medical/religious exemption/declination accepted
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
• Respiratory Safety Clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Competency & Training

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required
• WellSpan Health LMS modules and new hire orientation required (completed by first day)

Additional Notes

• Candidates will be clinically screened for fit before manager interview.
• Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days.
• WellSpan allows starting with fingerprint and child abuse results pending but must be finalized within 45 days or assignment will be terminated.
