Cath Lab Tech Opportunity

Location: Bakersfield, California
Facility: Memorial Hospital

Position Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Specialty: Cath Lab Tech
• Experience Required: Current cath lab experience mandatory
• Certifications Required:

  • ARRT
  • Fluoroscopy
  • BLS

Job Description & Responsibilities

• Work in a team of 2 techs per case (1 scrubs, 1 monitors hemodynamics)
• RN handles conscious sedation; occasionally a 4th team member (RN or tech) may assist
• Lead Tech assigns rooms
• Comfortable with:

  • Conscious and moderate sedation
  • Procedural processes
  • Airway management
  • Cardiac drips (e.g., Integrilin, dopamine, vasopressors)
  • Balloon pumps

Skills & Procedures

• STEMI receiving facility
• Cardiac/Coronary, vascular, peripheral, general IR, and neuro intervention

Facility & Workload

• 5 suites/labs:

  • 2 suites for coronary cases
  • 1 suite for peripheral cases
  • 1 suite for vascular & neuro cases
  • 1 suite for EP cases
• Average cases per day: 10-22

Scheduling & Call Requirements

• Weeknight call: Rotate 1x/week for inpatient and emergent cases
• Weekend call: 1 weekend per month (Friday evening through Monday morning)
• Shift pattern: 4x10 hour shifts

• No first-time travelers accepted

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab Technologist experience
• Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment
• ARRT certification
• BLS certification
• Fluoroscopy certification
• Comfortable with conscious sedation
• Comfortable with moderate sedation
• Comfortable with airway management
• Comfortable with balloon pumps
• Experience working with Cerner electronic health record system
