Description
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position
Location: Kingwood, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Information
- Setting: Rehab (North Tower), 1st floor
- Number of Beds: 457
- Staff: 2 full-time SLPs, 3 PRN SLPs, 1 contract SLP
- Shift: Day shift 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with 2 weekend day shifts per 4-week period
- Patient Ratio: 8 patients per 8-hour shift
- Equipment: FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing)
- EMR System: Meditech
Job Requirements & Skills
Must Have:
- Rehab or acute care experience
- Dysphagia evaluation skills
Preferred:
- Experience with FEES
- Ability to perform SLC evaluations
- Experience with IRF (Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility) evaluations and follow-up sessions
Certifications & Licenses:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ASHA Certification
Job Expectations & Guidelines
- Complete stroke evaluations within 24 hours of consult
- Productivity requirements: 68.75% for acute care, 75% for rehab
- Documentation and charges must be completed before the end of each shift
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
- Floating areas include IRF and acute care units

- Sunday through Thursday, with 2 weekend day shifts every 4 weeks
