Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Roswell, New Mexico
Facility: Ardent Health Services Lovelace Regional Hospital

Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Shift: MS/Tele Nights
  • Hours: Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Patient Ratios: 1:6
  • Schedule: Every other weekend required
  • Certifications Required: ACLS & BLS

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA, RQI, ARC, or American Safety and Health Institute
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA, ARC, RQI, or American Safety and Health Institute
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – as applicable
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – as applicable
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy Certification) – as applicable
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – as applicable
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification – as applicable, expires annually
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – as applicable
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – required as applicable, minimum 80% score or meet Angoff score
  • Color Blind Testing (online) – required for all candidates
  • Competency Exams (Core Parts I, II, III) – required annually for subcontractors
  • HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement – required

Licensure & Verification

  • State License primary source online verification required
  • NURSYS Verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
  • Education Verification (highest level of education)
  • Work History Verification (7 years)
  • Background Check (7 years, updated annually)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start, must renew annually (fit test done onsite at Lovelace Regional Hospital)
  • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest X-ray if positive
  • TB Questionnaire annually if positive TB test
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if negative/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history of chickenpox
  • Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/1-3/31)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (Dose 1 and fully vaccinated) or approved medical/religious exemption required

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Clear headshot photo for badge
  • Fingerprint Consent Form (New Mexico only) – must be signed prior to start
  • Fingerprinting completed onsite during orientation for New Mexico placements; must be redone for every new contract
  • Fingerprint clearance required before working on unit (1-3 business days processing time)

Additional Notes

  • Every other weekend work is required
  • Orientation and EPIC training attendance allowed pending fingerprint clearance
  • Behavioral Health RNs require APNA eLearning Center certification for competency-based training on restraint/seclusion assessments prior to start
