Physical Therapist (PT) - Temp Position

Location: Childress, Texas

Job Description

The Physical Therapist will:

• Accurately assess and diagnose patients' movement and functional deficits.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with patient-centered goals to reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability.
• Work to prevent loss of mobility.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Perform patient evaluations including history, systems review, and specific tests/measures.
• Establish individualized plans of care and select treatment techniques per physician orders.
• Conduct ongoing reassessment of patient progress and response to treatment.
• Initiate and manage discharge planning from the first visit through treatment completion.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff and students in accordance with state laws and policies.
• Complete clear, accurate documentation within required timeframes, meeting accreditation and insurance standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members using AIDET principles.
• Assess and provide education to meet the needs of patients and their support systems.
• Participate in professional development through educational programs, workshops, and current literature.
• Engage in quality improvement activities.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff, complying with safety standards.
• Practice within the scope defined by the Texas state practice act.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Physical Therapy experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) setting.
• Valid Texas PT license or compact license.
• No references required at time of submission.

Licensing

• Texas state license required.
• Compact license accepted.
