Job Details

Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required as applicable (AHA, RQI, ARC, or American Safety and Health Institute)
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required (AHA, ARC, RQI, or American Safety and Health Institute)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required as applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Required as applicable
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy): Required as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required as applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB): Required as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required as applicable, expires annually
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Required as applicable
- HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Required
- CEU's: Behavioral Health RNs must have APNA eLearning Center certification for competency-based training on restraint/seclusion assessments
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable, minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score
- Color Blind Testing Online: Required for all candidates
- Competency Exam: Required as applicable, minimum passing score 80% or Angoff score if higher
- Core Parts I, II, III: For subcontractors only, annual completion required
Licensure & Verification
- State License Verification: Primary source online verification required
- NURSYS Verification: Required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
- Tech Cert Verification - National: Required as applicable for allied professionals
- Education Verification: Must verify highest level of education
- Work History Verification: 7 years required
- Background Check: 7-year check within 1 year of start, includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM & HHS/OIG Checks: Required upon hire
- Employment Application/Resume: Required
- Skills Checklist: Unit-specific, required annually
- Transcript/Diploma: Accepted as placeholder if education verification pending
- References: Not required to clear candidates but 2 professional references recommended for travel/allied/per diem acute care
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask Test: Required within 1 year of start, must be renewed annually; fit test done onsite at Lovelace facilities
- Immunizations & Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
- TB Questionnaire (within 90 days for positive results, annual renewal)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination: Required during flu season (10/1-3/31) or approved medical/religious exemption
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Required or approved medical/religious exemption; declinations not accepted
- Flu & COVID-19 Vaccine Exemption Attestations: Required if exemption granted
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Photo for Badge: Clear headshot required
- Fingerprinting: Required onsite during orientation for New Mexico placements; must be redone for every new contract
- I9, Driver’s License/State ID, E-Verify: Required for all candidates
- Ardent Health Services Lovelace Medical Center Fingerprint Consent Form: Must be signed prior to start
Additional Notes
- Fingerprints clearance ETA: 1-3 business days; orientation and EPIC training allowed pending clearance but no unit work until cleared
- Every other weekend work is mandatory
- Ratios maintained at 1:6 for patient care
This position is ideal for RNs with required certifications and licensure who are comfortable working night shifts in a tele/medical-surgical setting with a travel/contract employment type.
