Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab RN)

Location: Sidney, Ohio
Facility: Wilson Health - Main Hospital
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 months
Start Date: Target start date is 9/1/2025 (potentially sooner to cover a leave)


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)
  • Schedule: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (4-day 9-hour shifts)
  • Call: 12-13 days per month (every 3rd weekend rotation)
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year required
  • Previous travel experience preferred
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only, RQI acceptable
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only, RQI acceptable
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for ER, preferred for RRTs, required as applicable
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Required for OB units
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Preferred but not required for ER
  • HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) during orientation
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Required for Psych units only
  • State Nursing License verification (Primary Source Verification)
  • NURSYS verification (for all RNs)

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Unit-specific competency exam (must be updated annually)
  • Core training modules (for subcontractors)

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
  • N95 Fit Test (3M 9205) within past 12 months; on-site testing possible but not preferred
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or facility-specific declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (various acceptable test types)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer or facility declination
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, 3-dose vaccine series, or declination (must sign declination forms)
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, history of chickenpox, or declination
  • Drug Testing: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30 days to 1 year of start
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination (preferred but not required by facility)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination or Medical/Religious Exemption required

Background and Compliance

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM checks within 30 days of start and updated with contract renewals
  • HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated with contract renewals
  • Professional references within 2 years (2 for travel positions)
  • Employment application and resume required
  • Fingerprinting: BCI fingerprinting required within 6 months of start; must be completed promptly
  • Education verification upon client request

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of New Employee Orientation (NEO) module prior to orientation (1-2 hours)
  • TB Questionnaire must be completed prior to documentation due date
  • Respirator evaluation questionnaire for those using respirators (annual clearance required)
  • Facility-specific forms for flu medical and religious exemptions, and vaccine declinations
  • Radiation badge provided by facility for applicable units (no action required by nurse)

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs who meet the certification and health requirements and are comfortable with a travel/contract role in a hospital setting with call responsibilities.
