Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Facility: WellSpan York Hospital
Hospital System: Bingham Memorial Hospital - Locums
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Requires competencies in EP Lab & Cardiac Cath Lab
- Day shift with flexible 8-hour or 10-hour shifts between 6 AM - 7 PM
- Weekend and holiday shifts as needed
- Must be willing to stay until the last patient is cared for
- Call may be required
- Pre-screening by clinical team and final interview with manager
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience required
- EPIC experience required
Unit Information
- Invasive Cardiology unit with 4 Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology Labs
- 23 prep/recovery bays
- Performs over 6,000 procedures annually
- Advanced cardiovascular treatments including:
- Complex coronary procedures
- Ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO
- Structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping)
- Complex atrial and ventricular ablations
- Pacemaker/ICD implant & explant
- Cardioversion
- Pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation
- Peripheral intervention and pulmonary embolectomy
- May care for COVID-19 patients
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
Schedule & Requirements
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Weekends, holidays, and floating as needed
Required Certifications & Experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- EPIC experience
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Background & Screening
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; must be on file within 45 days of assignment start
- PA Child Abuse Search required within 1 year of start; must be on file within 45 days of assignment start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- 2 professional references within 3 years
- Education verification (degree, diploma, or transcripts) required
- Employment application or most recent resume required
Health & Immunizations
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD/DO/NP/PA
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Vaccines (2 doses) or positive titers required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct - Spring)
- COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted
- Drug screening (9 panel) negative within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
- Respiratory Safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
Competency Exams & Training
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health
- Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required
- WellSpan Health LMS modules and new hire orientation required (completed by first day)
- Facility-specific documents to review and sign: Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, Non-Employee Affidavit, Hep B Declination, Safety and Security Vehicle Registration
Additional Notes
- Candidates will be clinically screened for fit before manager interview
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free; candidates must be notified prior to submission
- Must be flexible for weekend, holiday, and call shifts as needed
