Description
Radiation Therapist - Travel Position
Location: Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri
Hospital System: Mercy Health
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiation Therapy (Radiology)
- Employment Type: Travel
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days, 5x8 schedule (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, depending on patient load)
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: None
- Call Requirements: None
Required Certifications & Experience
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association only)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- RRA (Registered Radiology Assistant)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapy experience in a hospital setting
Unit & Equipment Information
- Patient Volume: Approximately 65-70 patients treated per day
- Equipment Used:
- Elekta Versa
- Varian HDR
- Cyberknife
- New Radixact system (installation expected by August 2024)
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Mosaiq and EPIC
Job Responsibilities & Skills
- Member of the Radiation Therapy Treatment Team responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering prescribed radiation therapy treatments using sophisticated equipment
- Setting up and imaging patients for treatment
- Elekta workflow training provided on-the-job
- Must have good communication skills and linac treatment experience
- Preferred experience with Elekta equipment
- Works well with others and communicates effectively
Patient Population
- Both inpatient (IP) and outpatient (OP) radiation therapy patients
Dress Code
- Scrubs: Black only
- Colored scrubs are not acceptable
