Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, or NICU)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract

- Floating: Yes, may float between units as needed
- On-Call: Yes, on-call required

- Patient Ratios: AWHONN patient ratios; typically 1:4

Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy Certification) – Verify if required
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – AWHONN or NCC-EFM certification (verify specific requirements)
- NURSYS Verification – Required for all RNs
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit and clinical track
Required Documents & Verifications
- I9 Attestation
- Government-Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Social Security Card (for WA State OBRA search if applicable)
- E-Verify Attestation
- State License Verification (NURSYS for RNs)
- Background Check: Within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within last 3 years
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment
- Education Verification: Required for nursing degree
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Immunizations & Health Requirements:
- TDAP (within 10 years) or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
- Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024, medically cleared annually for respirator use
- Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024, updated annually
Training & Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency Exams relevant to specialty/unit
- EFM Training: Required for all L&D RNs starting 9/30/2024, can be met by certification or assessment exam
- WorkRamp Modules:
- Pre-Start and Specialty-specific modules required for travel and per diem caregivers
- Modules assigned based on region, specialty, and facility
- Annual regulatory and additional training modules required
- Epic Training: Required for candidates working at Providence Holy Family Hospital; must complete Epic modules within a week of orientation
Additional Notes
- Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- On-Call and Weekend Work: Required as part of the role
- 48-Hour Shifts: Not approved for this position
- Parking: Free parking available at the facility
This position is ideal for RNs with experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, or NICU who are comfortable with floating between units, working weekends, and being on-call. Providence Holy Family Hospital is a Level III Trauma Center with a supportive environment and no parking fees. Compliance with all certifications, health requirements, and training modules is mandatory.
