Description

OB/L&D RN Opportunity

Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
Facility: Sanford Bemidji Medical Center
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Minnesota
  • Labor and Delivery experience (minimum 2 years), including experience within the last year
  • Current certifications:
    • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
    • BLS issued by American Heart Association
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
  • Postpartum experience
  • Pediatrics experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Care for postpartum, stable antepartum, pediatric patients, newborns, GYN, Med-Surg overflow
  • May serve as second RN in Special Care Nursery (SCN)
  • Support patient census includes approximately:
    • 5 mom/baby couplets
    • 2 pediatrics
    • 1 GYN
    • 2 labor patients
    • 4 SCN patients

Unit Details

  • Nurse-to-patient ratios:
    • 1:3 mom/baby couplets
    • 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg patients
    • 1:3-4 pediatrics
  • Support staff includes ward clerk (7am-7pm), CNA (Tues-Thurs), charge nurse, resource nurse, and LPN scrub nurse without assignments
  • Equipment used: EPIC One Chart, Acudose, Philips Vitals Machines, Bladder Scanner, Medula Breast Pumps, Responder 5 Call Light System, Medfusion Pumps

Schedule & Orientation

  • Variable shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • May rotate day/night shifts
  • Orientation includes equipment and unit training on first day
  • Must badge in/out at facility
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must disclose if previously employed by Sanford Health (with at least 6 months since last employment)
  • Must be willing to float per union contract (travelers are first to float)
  • Preference for candidates with PALS certification, though not required
