Description
OB/L&D RN Opportunity
Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
Facility: Sanford Bemidji Medical Center
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Minnesota
- Labor and Delivery experience (minimum 2 years), including experience within the last year
- Current certifications:
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Postpartum experience
- Pediatrics experience
Job Responsibilities
- Care for postpartum, stable antepartum, pediatric patients, newborns, GYN, Med-Surg overflow
- May serve as second RN in Special Care Nursery (SCN)
- Support patient census includes approximately:
- 5 mom/baby couplets
- 2 pediatrics
- 1 GYN
- 2 labor patients
- 4 SCN patients
Unit Details
- Nurse-to-patient ratios:
- 1:3 mom/baby couplets
- 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg patients
- 1:3-4 pediatrics
- Support staff includes ward clerk (7am-7pm), CNA (Tues-Thurs), charge nurse, resource nurse, and LPN scrub nurse without assignments
- Equipment used: EPIC One Chart, Acudose, Philips Vitals Machines, Bladder Scanner, Medula Breast Pumps, Responder 5 Call Light System, Medfusion Pumps
Schedule & Orientation
- Variable shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- May rotate day/night shifts
- Orientation includes equipment and unit training on first day
- Must badge in/out at facility
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
Additional Notes
- Candidates must disclose if previously employed by Sanford Health (with at least 6 months since last employment)
- Must be willing to float per union contract (travelers are first to float)
- Preference for candidates with PALS certification, though not required
