Physical Therapist (PT) - Rehabilitation Therapy
Location: Hot Springs, South Dakota
Facility: Fall River Health Services
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Job Overview
Provide physical therapy services to support the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with developmental deficits, physical injuries, or illnesses. Deliver therapy programs aimed at restoring body functions and promoting maximum wellness and independence for patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and provide direct therapeutic care to assigned clients.
- Teach rehabilitation skills to clients and/or caregivers to promote independent functionality and safety.
- Deliver preventive and rehabilitative physical therapy procedures tailored to client age and needs.
- Develop and revise individualized plans of care based on assessments, client history, diagnosis, physician orders, and goals, including discharge planning.
- Perform or monitor treatments using physical agents such as heat, water, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound.
- Follow utilization guidelines and protocols.
- Communicate significant clinical findings and changes to physicians and involved personnel.
- Document all skilled and medically necessary care thoroughly and in compliance with Medicare, State, Federal, JCAHO, insurance, and payer requirements.
- Maintain client and organizational confidentiality.
- Participate in Quality Management and complete required in-service training to maintain skills and standards.
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs) as applicable, including conducting supervisory visits and updating written instructions according to policy and regulations.
- Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, business development, and customer service programs to support facility goals.
- Demonstrate leadership through effective communication, relationship building, teamwork, and professional development.
Qualifications & Compliance
- Perform duties within the scope of physical therapy practice guidelines and productivity standards.
- Adhere to Federal and State laws, rules, regulations, and agency policies regarding supervision and care delivery.
