Job Opportunity: Speech Language Pathologist
Location: Pomona, California
Facility: Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center MSP
Position Details

- Role:
- Inpatient and outpatient Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for adult patients (18 and over)
- Evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive, or swallow deficits
- Develop treatment plans and provide follow-up care
- Shifts: Up to 5 shifts per week
- Shift Hours: 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM
- Weekends/On-call: Yes, may include weekends for inpatient care
- Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs with white lab coat
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license
- Education:
- Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required: Master’s degree or equivalent postgraduate degree for SLP licensure
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years adult inpatient acute care and/or 2 years outpatient adult experience
- Preferred Skills:
- Acute hospital experience
- Adult swallow evaluations and treatment
- Cognitive evaluation and treatments
- Trach/Vent experience
- Outpatient speech/swallow evaluation and treatment of neurologic conditions
Certifications & Competencies Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA only
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA only (if applicable)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, CCRN)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – Annual completion with minimum 80% score
- Competency Exam – Annual completion with minimum 80% score
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 12 months prior to start, cleared to work without restrictions
- Fit Mask Test: Required prior to start with approved mask models; onsite testing may be available
- Immunizations & Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years) or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella immune titers or vaccination records
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or declination
- Varicella immune titer or vaccination records
- Hepatitis C titer
- Seasonal Flu and COVID-19 vaccination or facility-specific declination forms
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; annual renewal required for travel/per diem
Background & Compliance
- Background Check: Must cover last 7 years, including social security address check (15 years), national criminal search, sex offender search, education verification, and international searches if applicable
- Employment Application: Complete 15+ years of work history with locations and explanations for gaps
- References: Two professional references required, including one from most recent experience
- State and Federal Checks: EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
Facility Specific Requirements
- Orientation Packet Acknowledgment: Must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Facility Policies: Including fingernail hygiene, timekeeping, float policy (if applicable), privacy and security, parking regulations, and drug diversion module
- Photo for Badge: Passport-like photo on plain blue background required within 72 hours of signing
- Modules: Completion of assigned clinical modules via WorkRamp platform prior to start with passing score above 80%
- System Access Request Form: Must be completed within 24 hours of signing and updated annually
- COVID-19 Exposure Questionnaire: Must be signed prior to start
