Job Opportunity: Cath Lab RN (Travel/Contract)

Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience (required)
- Must be willing to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- Previous permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must have a minimum 3-month separation before qualifying for this travel position

- Acute Myocardial Infarction (MI), Interventional, Pre/Post Procedural
Special Procedures
- Cardiac Catheterization
- Procedure Sedation
- Blood/Blood Products Administration
- Cardioversion / Defibrillation
- Sheath Removal
- PICC/Central Lines
- Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access and Care
- Triple Lumen Catheter
- Biopsies (GI/GU/Renal, Peripheral Vascular)
Special Equipment
- Circulate, Scrub, Record in Cath Lab environment
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
Staffing Ratios
- 1:1 patient care ratio
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid State License (RN)
- Background Check within 45 days of start, updated annually
- Drug Screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and Health Screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required during flu season, declination accepted)
- COVID-19 Vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
- Fit Mask Test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel starts after 2/5/2024, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment Application covering at least last 5 years of employment
- Education Verification (nursing degree verification required)
- Skills Checklist (annual update required)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:
- Core modules for caregivers
- Specialty-specific modules as applicable
- Regional and facility-specific compliance modules
- Providence Swedish Medical Center Floating Policy Acknowledgement (may be required to float to other Providence facilities)
- Badge photo (passport style with neutral background) required for badge issuance
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared to work in a high-acuity Cath Lab environment with 1:1 patient care
- Floating to other Providence facilities within the region is expected
- All certifications must be current and from approved organizations (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation for ACLS/BCLS)
- Background and health documentation must be maintained and updated as per Providence Health and Services policies
This position offers an opportunity to work in a well-established hospital system with a focus on cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures. Candidates must meet strict compliance and credentialing requirements to ensure patient safety and regulatory adherence.
