Job Opportunity: Cath Lab RN (Travel/Contract)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience (required)
• Must be willing to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
• Previous permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must have a minimum 3-month separation before qualifying for this travel position

Patient Diagnoses

• Acute Myocardial Infarction (MI), Interventional, Pre/Post Procedural

Special Procedures

• Cardiac Catheterization
• Procedure Sedation
• Blood/Blood Products Administration
• Cardioversion / Defibrillation
• Sheath Removal
• PICC/Central Lines
• Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access and Care
• Triple Lumen Catheter
• Biopsies (GI/GU/Renal, Peripheral Vascular)

Special Equipment

• Circulate, Scrub, Record in Cath Lab environment

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)

Staffing Ratios

• 1:1 patient care ratio

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid State License (RN)
• Background Check within 45 days of start, updated annually
• Drug Screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and Health Screenings:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required during flu season, declination accepted)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
• Fit Mask Test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel starts after 2/5/2024, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
• Employment Application covering at least last 5 years of employment
• Education Verification (nursing degree verification required)
• Skills Checklist (annual update required)

Facility Specific Requirements

• Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:

  • Core modules for caregivers
  • Specialty-specific modules as applicable
  • Regional and facility-specific compliance modules
• Providence Swedish Medical Center Floating Policy Acknowledgement (may be required to float to other Providence facilities)
• Badge photo (passport style with neutral background) required for badge issuance

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be prepared to work in a high-acuity Cath Lab environment with 1:1 patient care
• Floating to other Providence facilities within the region is expected
• All certifications must be current and from approved organizations (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation for ACLS/BCLS)
• Background and health documentation must be maintained and updated as per Providence Health and Services policies
