Job Overview

• Position involves floating as a Flex RN between various medical and surgical units.
• Units include Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and occasionally Cardiovascular.
• Must have an active Hawaii nursing license by the start of the assignment.
• Medical and religious exemption requests for immunity proof will not be accepted.

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts (06:45 AM to 07:15 PM)
• Scheduled 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
• No guaranteed hours

Units and Patient Ratios

• Medical Unit: 77 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
• Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute): 18 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6
• Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4 (rarely floated here)
• Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves

Required Skills and Experience

• 2 to 10 years of nursing experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC

Equipment and Systems Used

• Meditech EMR
• Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Wound vac
• Chest tubes

Dress Code

• Professional nursing attire with clean scrubs

Orientation and Training

• Orientation provided for each unit prior to assignment

This position is ideal for experienced nurses comfortable with floating across multiple units in a hospital setting and working 12-hour day shifts.
