Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina
Facility: UNC Health Wayne
Hospital System: Advanced Radiology Services, P.C. - Locums
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule & Work Details

  • Shifts: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, PM (7pm-7am)
  • Every Other Weekend (EOW) / Every Other Holiday (EOH)
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated
  • On-call: Possible 1 shift (12 hours) per pay period
  • Staffing ratio: Typically 1:5 or 1:6, occasionally up to 1:7
  • Floating: Expected to float to like or lower acuity units if needed
  • All units may handle COVID-19 patients
  • No flu vaccine exemptions or declinations accepted (including religious or medical)

Required Experience & Certifications

  • EPIC experience required
  • Charge nurse experience preferred but not mandatory
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) / Chemo Immunotherapy certification preferred
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
  • NIH Stroke Certification required and must be updated annually
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required for all RNs; must be current within 6 months and renewed every 2 years
  • Other certifications as applicable: PALS, NRP, EFM, ASLS (for ER/ED candidates)

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Negative 2-step TB test or equivalent within 1 year
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (Tdap only; DTaP and TD not accepted)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer required
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer required
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination required
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (no exemptions accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccination proof required if vaccinated (requirement may be waived if not vaccinated)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start date
  • Fit test required for Respiratory Therapists (RRT)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted as final)

Background & Verification

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days while on assignment
  • Education verification required within 90 days of start (diploma or transcript)
  • Work history verification required (especially for Surgical Techs)
  • Skills checklist required

Orientation & Facility Specifics

  • Orientation includes virtual LMS modules on Monday and Tuesday, with the first onsite day on Wednesday
  • Current headshot photo required for badge (passport-style, plain background)
  • Confidentiality and Code of Conduct forms must be reviewed and signed
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exams required as applicable
  • Competency exams required per unit

Additional Notes

  • No flu vaccine exemptions or declinations accepted at this time
  • Candidates must include Return to Office (RTO) date in submission to be honored at offer time
  • Facility has latex-free PPE; latex allergies are acceptable
  • ASLS certification for ER/ED candidates can be conditionally cleared pending completion of online portion and scheduling of in-person class prior to start

This position is ideal for RNs with EPIC experience looking for a travel/contract role in a hospital setting with oncology and critical care exposure. Compliance with strict vaccination and certification requirements is mandatory.
