Job Description

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Care is delivered using the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and available resources, aligned with the institution’s philosophy.

Essential Functions

• Perform all unit-specific responsibilities within the scope of service.
• Implement procedures and theories related to interventional radiology nursing practice.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care for healthcare team use.
• Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs.
• Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation.
• Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues to resolve issues and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify personal learning needs and pursue appropriate solutions.
• Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Department-Specific Functions

• Administer medications necessary for interventional radiology procedures.
• Manage patient care during moderate sedation.
• Monitor hemodynamics throughout procedures.
• Document procedure events clearly and accurately.
• Understand and utilize supplies and equipment used in various interventional radiology procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant nursing experience.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with a background in interventional radiology or procedural nursing who are comfortable managing sedation and hemodynamic monitoring during procedures.
