Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Portland, Maine

Position Details

Specialty: Respiratory Therapy (RRT)
Employment Type: Travel
Location: Portland, Maine
Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Weekend Hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted)
Call Requirements: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Experience & Qualifications

Required Experience: Minimum 3+ years
Required Certifications:
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Preferred Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for NICU
Preferred Experience:
- Tertiary, teaching hospital experience
- Level 1 trauma center experience
- NICU/PICU and Cardiothoracic experience preferred

Job Responsibilities & Float Requirements

Float as RRT to NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, Emergency Department, adult acute and critical care
Cover entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs
Patient Ratios:
- Acute care: 1:25
- Critical care: 1:8

Unit & Equipment

Number of Beds: Varies daily depending on assignments
Equipment Used:
- Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators
- Hamilton T1 and C1 ventilators
- Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line
- Airvo, Vapotherm
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Personality & Work Environment

Flexible and team-oriented
Strong communication skills
Scrub color provided or flexible dress code
No unacceptable attire specified

This position is ideal for experienced respiratory therapists comfortable working in a fast-paced, tertiary teaching hospital environment with a variety of patient populations including pediatrics and critical care.
