Unit Information

Unit: Neuro-Vascular Intensive Care Unit (NVICU)
Number of Beds: 16
Staffing: 46 total staff
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs
Patient Ratio: Approximately 2:1
Equipment: Standard ICU equipment
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Requirements / Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Typical Procedures Performed

Central line and arterial line placement
Intubation
EVD (External Ventricular Drain) placement (core staff care for these patients)

Work Environment & Expectations

Floating Areas: All ICUs, Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), Progressive Care Unit (PCU) floors
Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
Schedule Requirements: Must work at least 4 weekends per schedule period
Personality Fit: Team player, accountable, caring
