Position Details

Unit Information
- Unit: Neuro-Vascular Intensive Care Unit (NVICU)
- Number of Beds: 16
- Staffing: 46 total staff
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 2:1
- Equipment: Standard ICU equipment
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Typical Procedures Performed
- Central line and arterial line placement
- Intubation
- EVD (External Ventricular Drain) placement (core staff care for these patients)
Work Environment & Expectations
- Floating Areas: All ICUs, Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), Progressive Care Unit (PCU) floors
- Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
- Schedule Requirements: Must work at least 4 weekends per schedule period
- Personality Fit: Team player, accountable, caring
