Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Facility: Ohio States Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital

Job Description
- Work in a hybrid OR suite utilized by Neurosurgeons specialized in endovascular procedures.
- Cases include diagnostic cerebral angiograms, stroke treatment, ruptured aneurysms, AVMs, and carotid stenting.
- Shift: Negotiable 4x10s (6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), Monday-Friday.
- On-call required for after hours and weekends with a minimum of 125 hours of call per month.
- Documentation system: Epic.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended/required depending on unit
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) for ER-related units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) for L&D, Post-Partum, OB units
- NIH Stroke Certification for ER and Critical Care RNs
- State License verification within 30 days of start
- HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
- Tech Certification verification (varies by role)

- Peripheral vascular studies (upper and lower extremity, abdomen, pelvic)
- Stroke treatment
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer or 3-vaccine series)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemptions reviewed)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Background & Screening
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start (including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide, sex offender, MVR if applicable)
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start (code 3701.881)
- Pending background and fingerprint results require attestation
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring for Aya candidates
- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)

- Skills checklist required
- Education accreditation confirmation for nurses (accredited programs only)
- Transcript/diploma required for Respiratory Therapists
- Facility-specific policies including dress code, hand hygiene, fraud/waste/abuse training, and ethics compliance must be reviewed and signed
Notes
- Candidates using a compact license from states other than Ohio must complete a Residency Declaration Form.
- Some certifications can be renewed onsite.
- Unit-specific competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency exams may be required.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for all RNs within 1 year of start and updated annually.
- Fingerprinting and background check processes are time-sensitive and must be completed promptly.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity, specialized cardiovascular and neurointerventional environment within a Level I trauma and teaching hospital setting.
