Travel Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) - Cath Lab
Location: North Richland Hills, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Radiologic Technologist with Cath lab experience to scrub and monitor cardiac catheterization (Cath), electrophysiology (EP), and peripheral procedures starting Day 1.
Unit Information
- Unit: Cardiac Cath Lab
- Rooms: 4
- Staff: Currently 8 full-time (optimal 12 full-time)
- Shifts:
- Day Shift: RNs and Techs, minimum 3 staff per room
- Night Shift: On-call only, 4-person team
- Patient Ratios: 1 patient per team of 3-4 staff
- Equipment: GE X-ray, Impella, IABP, Atherectomy, IVUS/OCT, FFR/RFR
- EMR Systems: Maclab (case charting), Meditech (facility)
Required Skills & Experience
- Certifications:
- ARRT (Radiologic Technologist) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of Cath lab experience required (scrubbing cardiac cath cases and STEMI call)
- Ability to scrub and/or monitor Cath lab cases
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience scrubbing Interventional Radiology (IR) and Electrophysiology (EP) procedures
- Maclab monitoring experience
Typical Procedures
- Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology (Permcath, fistula)
- Electrophysiology (device implantation, ablation, Watchman procedures)
- Peripheral angiograms
- Note: No neuro IR procedures
Work Environment & Expectations
- Personality Fit: Team player, adaptable, "go with the flow" attitude
- Floating: May assist in other local partner hospital cath labs with turnover, patient transport, and other procedural areas
- Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs
- Call & Weekend Requirements:
- Call required with alternating weekends
- Approximately 14-15 days per month on call
- Submit any no-call requests prior to contract start
Summary
This role is ideal for a Radiologic Technologist or RCIS with at least 1 year of Cath lab experience who is comfortable scrubbing and monitoring cardiac and peripheral procedures in a fast-paced Cath lab environment. Prior travel experience is not explicitly required. ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
