    Cath Lab Technologist - Puyallup, Washington

    Job Overview

    • Specialty: Cath Lab
    • Location: Puyallup, WA
    • Contract Length: 13 weeks
    • Shift Times: 0600 – 1630 or 0700 – 1730 (later shift if on call)
    • Call Schedule:
      • Call every 4th weekend (Friday 0700 through Monday 0700)
      • 1-2 weeknights per week (Monday–Thursday, once per week, until 0700 next day)
      • 30-minute response time
      • 3-person call team (2 techs, 1 RN)
    • Holiday Expectation: 1 holiday per contract, call only
    • Floating: Possible floating to Auburn Cath Lab (15 minutes away), max once per week, advance notice provided

    Experience Requirements

    • Years of Specialty Experience:
      • Minimum 2+ years Cath Lab experience for first-time travelers
      • 1 year Cath Lab experience accepted if prior travel experience is demonstrated
    • Prior Travel Experience:
      • Accepted but not explicitly required; travelers with prior travel experience may qualify with less experience

    Patient & Case Types

    • Diagnostic/interventional Cath Lab procedures including:
      • Left and Right Heart Catheterization (LHC/RHC)
      • NSTEMI and STEMI cases
      • Impella, IABPs, Rotablator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave
      • Temporary pacers, peripheral (legs) diagnostic/intervention, loop recorders
    • Electrophysiology (EP) procedures including:
      • Micra, pacemaker, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, generator changes
    • Typical caseload: ~8 cases per day

    Licensure & Certifications

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • ARRT OR RCIS License
    • Washington State License

    Skills & Competencies

    • Ability to scrub and operate table simultaneously
    • Experience with listed Cath Lab and EP cases
    • Monitoring experience preferred
    • Positive attitude, flexibility, and teamwork essential

    Orientation & Training

    • First day: New Employee Orientation (NEO)
    • Remainder of first week: Department training with option for buddy call
    • Independent call starting second week

    Unit Support & Environment

    • 2 Cath Lab rooms
    • Support staff includes:
      • Scheduler
      • Charge nurse/Lead Tech
      • Respiratory Therapy (24/7)
      • Hospitalist (24/7)
      • Intensivists
      • Cardiologist on call and present during day
      • Rapid Response Team (RRT) and Code Team
      • Transporter (techs may assist with tele-monitored patients)
      • Manager available weekdays
    • Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds
    • COVID vaccine required

    Technology & Equipment

    • EMR: EPIC
    • IV Pumps: Alaris
    • Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
    • PACS: Picom
    • Hemodynamic monitoring: Merge (experience preferred)
    • C-arm: GE Alea (experience not required)

    Scheduling Details

    • Weekend rotation: Call only
    • Rotating day off each week
    • Lead Tech manages regular and call schedules
    • Approval for time off requests through manager

    Additional Notes

    • Scrub color and lead scrubs provided; extended sizing available except for lead scrubs
    • Free parking in garage available
