Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Roswell, New Mexico
Facility: Ardent Health Services Lovelace Regional Hospital
Hospital System: Ardent Health Services
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (LDRP)
Hours: Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
Job Description
- Work in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit during night shifts.
- Responsibilities include coupling well babies, managing labor patients, and circulating during cesarean sections.
- Scheduling is flexible to meet unit needs and may require covering schedule gaps.
- First-time travelers are welcome.
- Documentation is done using the Epic system.
- Scrubs are provided (purple, navy blue, or any color purple scrubs allowed).
Experience & Certifications Required
- Minimum 1 year of previous nursing experience required.
- Certifications required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Certifications preferred:
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Additional Required Certifications (as applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
- NIH Stroke Certification (annual expiration)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
- Competency Exams (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
- Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors, annual completion required)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start; must be renewed annually. Fit testing is done onsite at Lovelace facilities.
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination accepted)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented chickenpox history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (10/1-3/31) or approved medical/religious exemption. Declinations not accepted.
- COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 and fully vaccinated) or approved medical/religious exemption required. Declinations not accepted.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
Background & Compliance
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire.
- Employment application and resume required.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually.
- Education verification and work history verification (7 years) required.
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation for New Mexico placements; must be redone for every new contract. Clearance required before working on unit.
Documentation & Other Requirements
- Clear headshot photo for badge.
- Signed fingerprint consent form required prior to start.
- Various attestations and internal documents required for compliance with Ardent Health Services policies.
