Travel Physical Therapist (PT)
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Specialty: Outpatient Physical Therapy
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Weekdays, 5 days per week
- Option 1: 5 x 8-hour shifts
- Option 2: 3 x 9-hour shifts, 1 x 5-hour shift, 1 x 8-hour shift
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
- Weekend Hours: None
- Call Requirements: None
Licensure & Certifications
- Current PT License eligible for or licensed in Missouri
- CPR/BLS and ACLS (AHA only) required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of PT experience with orthopedic experience
- New graduates may be considered if they have completed at least 1 travel rotation
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
Skills & Patient Population
- Manual Therapy experience required
- Patient population: Geriatric Orthopedics, Post-Operative and Non-Operative
- Typical patient sessions: 45 minutes one-on-one, approximately 52 patients per week
- Equipment used: Traction, Basic Rehab Equipment
- EMR system: EPIC
Job Responsibilities
- Perform evaluations including patient history, motor/sensory function, functional mobility, gait, endurance, and develop patient-centered treatment plans
- Provide treatments including therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, hot packs, electrical stimulation, whirlpool), manual therapy, neuromuscular reeducation, gait training, wound care, orthotic/prosthetic management
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and document care thoroughly
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, equipment use, and follow-up care
- Meet departmental productivity and quality standards
- Participate in professional development and provide supervision for students during clinical rotations
- Support process improvement and patient outcome monitoring
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Patient care may involve heavy lifting, bending, standing
- Physical requirements include pushing up to 40 lbs, pulling 60 lbs, gripping 50 lbs, pinching 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, crawling
- Must demonstrate competency with therapy equipment and office technology
Additional Requirements
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for travel period November 1 - April 1 (declinations not accepted)
- Dress code: Black pants and collared shirt; no shorts or open-toed shoes
