Physical Therapist - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Glendive, Montana
Facility: Glendive Medical Center (Summit Health - Locums)
Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation


Position Details

  • Role: Physical Therapist (inpatient and outpatient)
  • Start Date: ASAP (minimum two weeks from offer for compliance)
  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (0800-1700)
  • Ratios: 1:6 patient to therapist ratio
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
  • First-time Travelers: Not accepted
  • Weekend Requirement: None (position is likely M-F)
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block Schedule: May be accommodated (M-F)
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
  • License:
    • Must have BLS and State License
    • Compact License accepted
    • Montana state license takes approximately 8 weeks to obtain if no compact license
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No RTO during first two weeks (orientation); limit RTO to one week thereafter
  • Guaranteed Hours: Yes
    • 5x8 hr shifts = 40 hours guaranteed weekly
    • 3x12 hr shifts = 36 hours guaranteed weekly
    • 4x12 hr shifts = 48 hours guaranteed weekly

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • Mandatory:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • State License (primary source verification required)
  • As applicable:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
    • Tech Certification Verification (National)
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
    • Competency Exam relevant to profession/specialty
  • Orientation: Annual Safety Manual Acknowledgement

Required Documentation & Health Requirements

  • Identification: Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start date
  • TB Testing: Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (various acceptable testing methods)
  • Immunizations:
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (declinations/boosters accepted)
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (declinations/boosters accepted)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year of start (instant acceptable)
  • Flu Vaccine: Required or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31) with signed declination form if applicable
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Required (dose 1, fully vaccinated, and booster) with exemptions accepted; seasonal vaccination preferred but not required
  • Fit Mask Test: Completed onsite on first day (facility responsibility)

Background & Compliance Checks

  • Background Check: 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Exclusion Checks: EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
  • Skills Checklist: Required annually
