Description
Radiation Oncology Position - Bangor, ME
Location: Bangor, Maine
Specialty: Radiation Oncology
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Start Date: October 28
Facility Overview
- Level II Trauma Center serving 2/3 of the state, with air flight access
- Certified Stroke Center
- 411 beds
- Outpatient and inpatient care areas
- Primarily adult and geriatric patients, very few pediatric patients
Equipment & Technology
- Three Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerators (Linacs)
- Siemens Somatom Go Open Pro CT Simulator
- EMR system: Mosaiq
Experience & Skills
- 1 year of experience may be accepted depending on type of experience
- Preference for candidates with Mosaiq and/or Varian TrueBeam experience
- First-time travelers are accepted
Patient Load
- Approximately 90 patients treated daily across three linacs
Licensure & Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (T) certification required
- Maine State license for Radiation Therapy
Scheduling & Work Conditions
- No weekends
- No on-call duties
- Holidays covered on a rotation basis with other techs
- Schedule created in 4-week blocks, shift specifics vary based on need
- Manager approval required for time off (RTO)
- Floating as needed to cover linacs
Orientation
- 1 to 1.5 weeks, depending on experience and comfort level
