Position Overview

Required Certifications and Licenses

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Valid driver’s license required at submittal

Department and Equipment

• Department: MRI
• Number of MRI machines: 3
• Equipment used: Siemens Espree, Siemens Trio, GE Architect
• EMR system: EPIC
• PACS system: McKesson

Job Duties and Patient Population

• Imaging adults, geriatrics, and some pediatric patients (including ER cases)
• MRI procedures with sedation or general anesthesia
• MRI on patients with conditional pacemakers
• MRI breast imaging
• Night shift requires CT and X-ray experience
• May cover CT and X-ray, especially during night shifts

Scheduling and Shifts

• Mixed shifts: 9, 10, and 12 hours with varying start times
• Cyclic scheduling managed by supervisors
• Weekend requirements: every 4th weekend for day shifts; every other weekend for overnight shifts
• Holiday requirement: 2 holidays per year
• Call requirements:

  • Weekend call: once every 6 weeks
  • Weeknight call: 3-4 nights per month when fully staffed (may increase if understaffed)
• Orientation: approximately 3 days of unit/department-specific orientation

Additional Information and Policies

• Radius rule: candidates must live within 50 miles and cannot be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
• Fingernail policy: artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination
• Very fast-paced department
• Return to office (RTO) required within 7 days for contracts of 13 weeks or less; no additional RTO approvals after submission

This position is suitable for MRI technologists with CT and X-ray experience, comfortable working varied shifts including nights, and able to comply with strict policies and fast-paced environment.
