Job Opportunity: Travel RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma

Job Description
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
- Follow physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with healthcare team members.
Work Complexity:
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follow Standard Precautions and use PPE as required.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Certifications and Credentials
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
- Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Medical Surgical Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
- Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, updated yearly)
- Onboarding education attestation and contract worker onboarding completed prior to start
- Nova StatStrip training completed prior to clearance
- Cerner Test-Out and training checklist completed prior to start
- Badge photo (white or blue background, no alterations)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferably completed prior to start, updated annually
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days prior to start
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
Background and Verification Requirements
- Driver’s License/State ID (valid, matching address requirements)
- Resume/Profile submission
- Two professional references prior to first assignment
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days of first assignment; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
- EPLS check within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days
- Education verification within 90 days of start; updated if break in service > 90 days
- Employment verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
- Confirmation of assignment documentation on agency letterhead with accurate start/end dates
Testing and Skills
- Skills checklist completed within one year of start; updated annually
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
Optional / Additional
- Unit specific checklist (optional for onboarding, uploaded by unit leader)
- Hiring manager evaluation (post-assignment)
- Legal documentation of name change (if applicable)
This position requires a highly qualified RN with strong clinical skills, ability to work independently, and compliance with extensive credentialing and health requirements.
