Description

Nuclear Imaging Technologist - Traveler Assignment

Location: Presque Isle, Maine
Specialty: Nuclear Imaging (PET CT)
Contract Length: 12 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Schedule:

  • 32 hours per week
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
  • No weekends or call required
  • Rotating start times between 5:30-6:00 AM or 7:00 AM
  • 8-10 hour shifts depending on the day
  • Holiday expectations: None
  • Return to Office (RTO) requires manager approval

Job Description

  • Perform PET CT scans primarily in the afternoon to eliminate backlog and maintain patient care continuity
  • Average patient volume: 8-10 patients per day; when performing PET CTs, about 5 patients per day
  • Fixed location assignment (no floating)
  • 2 weeks of orientation, adjusted based on skillset and comfort level

  • Imaging rooms include 3 Nuclear Medicine rooms: Gamma Camera, Stress Room, PET CT

  • DEXA scans
  • Cardiac scans
  • Stress Rest tests
  • HIDA scans
  • Renal scans
  • Bone scans
  • PET CT

Required Licensure and Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NMTCB or ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) certification required
  • Dosimeter (dose reader badge) required
  • Maine State license

Experience and Skills

  • Experience with the listed nuclear medicine scans required
  • Accepts travelers with 1 year of experience (preference for more)
  • First-time travelers accepted

Support and Team

  • Lead Technologist on unit
  • 2 technologists per shift
  • Internal transport support
  • Radiologist on site

Technology and Equipment

  • EMR system: Cerner
  • PACS: Enterprise Imaging AGFA
  • Equipment: Siemens dual head camera, GE IQ PET CT

  • Scrub color: Any solid color as long as professional, or facility-provided if needed
