Description
Physical Therapy Position
Location: Shreveport, Louisiana
Facility: Willis Knighton Rehab (Willis-Knighton Health)
Schedule & Work Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (varies by location)
- No weekends (Outpatient has no weekend coverage; IPR and Acute care usually 1 weekend per month)
- No on-call duties
- No holiday work required
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Experience & Candidate Preferences
- Minimum 1+ years of experience in Physical Therapy specialty required
- First-time travelers not preferred but may be considered depending on experience and skillset
Patient Types / Common Diagnoses
- Inpatient Rehab (IPR): Spinal Cord Injuries, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Strokes, Amputees, Multiple trauma, Hip fractures, bilateral knee replacements, post-Cardiac surgery, post-COVID, medically complex/debilitating patients
- Acute Care: Post-Cardiac, post-Ortho procedures, medically complex/debilitating patients
- Outpatient: General Orthopedics (surgical & non-surgical), Sports Medicine, Pediatrics (developmental), Neuro-specific diagnoses (higher functioning), Spinal patients (surgical & non-surgical)
- Skilled Nursing: Similar patient types as IPR
Licensure & Certifications
- Physical Therapist (PT): Current Louisiana PT license required
- Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA): Current Louisiana PTA license required
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to manage caseload independently
- Experience with the patient types listed above
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

- EMR: EPIC
- Inpatient Rehab & Acute Care charting: Meditech Expanse
- Outpatient charting: Wellsky
- Skilled Nursing charting: AOD (transitioning to Meditech Expanse)
Orientation
- General hospital orientation plus departmental and site-specific orientation (2-3 days)
- Full caseload expected by the end of the first week
Additional Notes
- No floating between facilities unless specified
- Scrub color: Pewter for Inpatient; Professional dress option for Outpatient only
