Travel RN Opportunity - ICU Unit, Anchorage, Alaska

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Anchorage, Alaska
• Employment Type: Travel
• Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Unit: ICU (CCU 65025)
• Patient Ratios: 2:1 or 1:1
• Number of Beds: 14
• Staffing: 8 RNs per shift (1 Charge RN + 7-8 Staff RNs on day and night shifts)
• EMR System: EPIC
• Equipment: Alaris IV pumps
• Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs
• Work Days: Monday through Friday (no weekends or on-call required)

Unit Information

• Typical procedures include:

  • Intubation
  • Arterial line insertion
  • Chest tube insertion
  • Central line insertion
• Floating may be required per union contract if unit is overstaffed; possible float areas include MOU, CVSU, Ortho, Rehab, or SPCU.

Requirements

• Licenses:

  • Valid Alaska RN License (required for submission)
• Certifications:

  • RN License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Certification
• Experience:

  • Must have experience with EPIC EMR
  • Ability to independently manage intubated patients and titrate pressors
• Preferred:

  • At least 1 year of experience recovering open heart surgery patients within 12 hours post-op

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs comfortable with critical care procedures and managing complex patients in a fast-paced environment.
