Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Assignment

Location: Bradenton, Florida
Employment Type: Travel

Facility & Unit Overview

• Level II Trauma Center with 383 beds (28-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF), 383 acute care hospital, average census 240)
• Physical Therapy unit staffed with 17 PTs (full-time and PRN)
• Day shift only; no night shift coverage
• Patient ratios:

  • IRF: 4 patients/day
  • Acute care: 8-12 patients/day
• Equipment includes 2 therapy gyms, Vector, LiteGait, ADL Apartment
• EMR system: Meditech

Job Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees
• Unit policies include 1 weekend shift per month

Required Qualifications

• Active PT license
• Active BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist
• Willingness to work on the IRF unit
• Critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital and IRF experience (highly preferred)
• Stroke/neuro experience

Typical Procedures

• Evaluation, treatment, discharge planning
• Participation in team conferences and family training
• Use of adaptive devices and equipment
