Job Opportunity: L&D RN (Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse) - Night Shift

Location: Winslow, Arizona
Facility Type: Small rural hospital in Northern Arizona

Position Details

• Specialty: Labor & Delivery (L&D) with nursery experience
• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), every other week
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours total)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: August 11
• Openings: 1
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in L&D, postpartum, mother-baby, and nursery care

Unit Information

• Unit is LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) – nurses care for patients from labor through discharge
• No high-risk deliveries; all deliveries are 36+ weeks gestation
• Patient population includes many with diabetes and drug/alcohol issues
• Special care or high-risk infants are transported to other facilities
• RN must be able to stabilize infants and provide infant care during C-sections (does not circulate)
• Must be able to multitask and manage more than one laboring patient simultaneously

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Additional Notes

• Hospital housing is available (important for this very rural location)
• Great location for a winter assignment

This position is ideal for experienced L&D nurses comfortable with a rural hospital setting and caring for a diverse patient population including infants and mothers with complex social and medical needs.
