Description
Surgical Tech - Travel Position
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Clinical Allied Travel
Position Overview
- Assist the surgeon and surgical team peri-operatively to ensure an optimal peri-operative experience.
- Requires knowledge of anatomy, surgical instrumentation, patient safety, and sterile technique.
Contract Length
- Approximately 12 weeks (84 days ≈ 12 weeks).
Required Experience and Competencies
- Experience in multiple specialties including Otorhinolaryngology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Neurology, Orthopedics, and Cardiovascular surgery.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical procedure orientation, and operation/care of surgical equipment.
- Understanding of patient and staff safety protocols.
Additional Considerations
- Ability to react quickly and accurately in the operating room.
- Commitment to quality patient care.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills across various personnel levels.
- Physical demands include standing and walking for most of the shift, moderate to heavy lifting.
- Exposure to potential hazards such as cuts, burns, infections, biohazardous chemicals, and x-rays.
Licensure/Certification
- Must maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Additional specialty certifications or training may be required depending on the work area.
