Travel RN Opportunity – Neuro Critical Care
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Specialty: Neurosurgical and Neurological Intensive Care (Neuro ICU)
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Number of Openings: Two 0.9 FTE positions (1.8 FTE total)
- Shift: Days
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Must float to other inpatient areas when home unit census is low
Required Certifications & Experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience

- Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3

Patient Population
- Ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
- Post-operative craniotomy
- Seizures
- Encephalopathy
- Neurologic tumors
Skills & Experience Must-Haves
- Neuro ICU experience
- Comprehensive patient assessment skills
- Care of hemodynamically unstable patients
- Care of mechanically ventilated patients
- Thorough neurological assessment skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Pupillometer
- EVD (External Ventricular Drain) management
- ICP (Intracranial Pressure) waveform management
- CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
- Epic EMR proficiency
