Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OR RN Circulator)

Location: Pratt, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Role: OR RN Circulator
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Shift: 06:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Weekend/On-Call: Call every 5th or 6th weekend plus one weekday
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year required
  • Specialty Proficiency: Must be proficient in Orthopedics (total joints), General Surgery, and Obstetrics (OB)
  • Special Procedures/Equipment: Orthopedics, Gynecology, Podiatry, General Surgery, Endoscopy, Labor and Delivery including C-sections

Licensure & Certifications

  • Licensure: Kansas RN license required
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Proof of identity (Government issued photo ID)
  • Proof of I9 or attestation
  • E-Verify or attestation
  • Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
  • Background Check: 7-year criminal check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Federal Criminal Felony & Misdemeanor Background Check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Proof of 2 clinical or professional references
  • Completed employment application/resume
  • Signed Skills Checklist (updated annually)
  • Performance and internal evaluations if applicable

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months, including physician statement clearing ability to work and free of communicable diseases
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) or chest X-ray as applicable, updated annually
  • TB Questionnaire
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity by titer or 2 vaccines (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity by titer or 2 vaccines
  • Drug Testing: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine mandatory during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31) unless medically exempt
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required; facility accepts vaccination, declination, or medical/religious exemption

Competency Requirements

  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% passing score)
  • Unit-specific competency exams (minimum 80% passing score)
  • Core training including OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • Additional preferred certifications depending on unit:
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
    • STABLE (preferred for LDRP)

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Review and sign Confidentiality Agreement and Standards of Performance prior to start
  • Complete agency information sheet and watch required training videos before starting
  • Complete WorkRamp training modules prior to start
  • Review and complete Restraints Training and Suicide and Behavioral Risk Assessment training prior to arrival
  • Follow first day instructions provided before start

Additional Notes

  • This is not a first-time traveler assignment
  • Must carry photo ID during hours of service
  • Must be proficient in multiple surgical specialties and able to handle call schedule as described
